I have two little bits of joy to share with everyone this morning. One is simple:
I went out looking for zucchini in the garden this morning and found these two sweeties instead. I think refrigerator pickles are in my very near future.
My other bit of joy is a little more complex. It’s more exciting than cucumbers, but it also causes a significant amount of worry. I finished the first (very, very rough draft) of my novel this week. Agh!! My plan is to not touch it for the next month and to spend the time reading, maybe writing some small pieces, and working on two large costuming projects that I have barreling down the pike, and going to that little workshop thing/boot camp. After that month I’m going to decide if I think it’s worth revising or if I’ll move on to another draft.
It’s a lot to think about, so for now, I’m focusing on the little things: pickles.
Hurray for you, Jessi!!! What an accomplishment! I know writing a novel is very personal with all the time and love you have to devote to it. I also know you’ll have a great time at the writing workshop, remember that everyone there is at their own place in their novel writing journey and be the best Learning Sponge you can be! 😉
And don’t fall off the sailboat!
Yea! I’m so proud of you – for growing pickles of course! No, really for whatever you set out to do. It doesn’t take much (really anything) but what I’m proud of you. Enjoy the process because once you reach that mountain, you only begin to look for another one.
